ART OF WAR: Called Wu Shu in Chinese, this classic military text was written by SUN TZU at a time when CHINA was divided into many rival warring states. The book discusses many aspects of warfare still considered significant today, including the importance of discipline, proper supply routes, and military and civilian morale. It describes various deceptive tactics and means of espionage and stresses that it is far more efficient to outwit an opponent than to defeat him with brute force. Both Asian generals and martial arts masters carefully studied this book and incorporated its ideas and techniques into their fighting styles.
